In a thread posted on the platform, D\u00edaz-Canel highlighted Vald\u00e9s Men\u00e9ndez\u2019s career within the Cuban Revolution and mourned his death.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe passing of Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Vald\u00e9s Men\u00e9ndez hurts deeply, like the loss of a father,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Rep. Mar\u00eda Elvira Salazar was the first Florida member of Congress to react Sunday to the announcement of the death of Cuba\u2019s former interior minister, Ramiro Vald\u00e9s Men\u00e9ndez.<\/p>\n
