A suspect accused of a fatal shooting in Sunrise was arrested on Wednesday, police said.<\/p>\n

According to Sunrise Police, at around 12:18 a.m., officers arrived at the 8800 block of Sunrise Lakes Boulevard after receiving reports of shots that were fired.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim who was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the shooting was an isolated incident and that there was no threat to the public.<\/p>\n

NBC6 spoke exclusively to a man who said the victim was his 70-year-old amputee.<\/p>\n

He said that someone showed up at their front door while drunk and shot the victim.<\/p>\n

The roommate said the victim was Winston Murphy.<\/p>\n

“He opened his door to anybody, everybody, whoever needed help,” he said. “Whether you’re homeless, whether you’re unemployed, whether you’re on the streets, whether you didn’t do nothing with your life.<\/p>\n

Authorities have not released the names of the suspect or the victim.<\/p>\n
