A man has been charged with pre-meditated murder after a shooting on Sunday night in Lauderhill, when he himself called 911, according to police. <\/p>\n

Authorities said they responded at around 10:08 p.m. to the 900 block of Northwest 34th Terrace. <\/p>\n

There, they found the victim, 35-year-old Reginald Merisma, lying in a driveway suffering from a gunshot wound. He pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Police said surveillance video shows the suspect, 35-year-old Anthony Johnson, pulling up in a car and getting out of the passenger’s side before quickly approaching Merisma, who had his hands up. <\/p>\n

Johnson opened fire and appeared to miss as the victim ducked behind a nearby trashcan, police said. <\/p>\n

Then, Johnson allegedly “closed the distance between him and the victim and shot the victim in the head.”<\/p>\n

Police said no firearms were found with the victim, and that all parties involved in the shooting are accounted for.<\/p>\n

Officers got involved after a call to 911 from Johnson, who said that “there was a subject on scene that was threatening people,” according to Lauderhill Police Lt. Antonio Gonzalez. <\/p>\n

“Shortly after, [Broward Sheriff’s Office] dispatch heard a loud bang over the open line and the caller stated, ‘I just shot him,'” Gonzalez said. <\/p>\n

Gonzalez said that the caller “appeared to clearly know the victim based on his threats to everybody around.”<\/p>\n

After the shooting, police said Johnson stayed on the the scene and advised that he had shot the victim. Gonzalez said there was “sufficient probable cause to arrest him for first-degree pre-meditated murder.”<\/p>\n

A motive for the shooting was not immediately revealed, and three witnesses have not wanted to cooperate with police.<\/p>\n

Johnson asked for an attorney and has not spoken to investigators, police said. <\/p>\n
