A veteran Miami Fire Rescue captain who was arrested last year for allegedly assaulting a deputy is once again behind bars on domestic violence charges, Miami-Dade jail records showed.<\/p>\n

Maximo Vasquez, 43, was arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, strongarm robbery and false imprisonment, according to jail records.<\/p>\n

Further details of the arrest weren’t available.<\/p>\n

“The City of Miami Department of Fire-Rescue is aware of an incident involving a 16-year veteran firefighter who was arrested Saturday by the Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office,” a fire department spokesperson said in a statement Monday. “At this time, we have not been in contact with the individual. Once contact is established, the department will initiate a thorough internal investigation in accordance with our policies and procedures.”<\/p>\n

Vasquez had been arrested in June of 2025 on charges of assaulting a police officer or firefighter, disorderly conduct, resisting an officer without violence and misuse of 911 after he was accused of assaulting a fellow first responder while trying to report that his wife was missing.<\/p>\n

Video\u00a0obtained by NBC6\u00a0showed the tense encounter.<\/p>\n

According to an arrest report, Miami-Dade deputies responded to a location in Miami regarding a missing person and met Vasquez, who was “visibly irate and shouting” about his missing wife.<\/p>\n

At one point, he allegedly threw a case card at a deputy, the report said.<\/p>\n

“My wife is missing, this is all I get?” Vasquez said in the video. “F— you, bro.”<\/p>\n

The deputies were then seen struggling with Vasquez before taking him into custody.<\/p>\n

Court records showed that case was dropped in March after Vasquez completed an advocate program.<\/p>\n
