Vladimir Kudyakov, 43, was arrested Wednesday on charges including second-degree grand theft, organized fraud, dealing in stolen property, fraudulent use of identification information, possession of a stolen or fictitious driver’s license, possession of counterfeit driver’s license equipment, unlawful use of a communications device, an arrest report said.

According to the report, the victim told Doral Police he went to the FedEx store at 10005 Northwest 41st Street on May 15 to pick up a package but was told it had been picked up a day earlier by an unknown person using a license with the victim’s information.

The package contained a gold Rolex Day-Date watch valued at $53,500 that had been purchased from a company in New Hampshire, the report said.

Surveillance video showed the suspect presenting the license and giving a tracking number before he was handed the package and left.

An investigator used facial recognition that identified the suspect as Kudyakov, the report said.

Records also showed Kudyakov’s wife’s car was in Doral at the time of the theft, which is rare because Kudyakov lives in Hollywood, the report said.

On May 20, a FedEx loss prevention officer contacted police to report the same suspect was trying to fraudulently retrieve another package at the FedEx at 200 S. Miami Avenue, the report said.

Officers responded and took Kudyakov into custody. He later provided a full confession, the report said.

Kudyakov was booked into jail and was expected to appear in bond court later Thursday.
