According to Fort Lauderdale Police, there was a two-vehicle crash where one of the vehicles left the road after being hit and struck a tree near a home in the 1300 block of Northwest Third Avenue.

The woman who was taken to the hospital had non-life-threatening injuries, and the home had minor damage.

Video showed tire tracks on the sidewalk and a hole that was left on the side of the home.

One of the cars had its front-end crushed and had visible damage along the passenger side, while the second car also had severe front-end damage.

NBC6 spoke to a resident who said speeding on the street has been a growing concern.

“It was it was scary,” Breanna Vanderplow said. “Was definitely also just like a reality check for me personally.”

Vanderplow lives in the home directly in front of where the crash happened.

“So I heard, like, the sudden crash, and it was, like, really loud and obviously like, that was concerning,” she said.

Vanderplow told NBC6 that she’s lived there for five years and said the possibility of a car crashing into her home was something she worried about when she bought the property.

“Since I’ve lived here, it’s happened across the street twice,” she said. So like, it is definitely like, could this be your house? And it is a bit scary.”

The owner of the property where the car crashed said it’s a big headache, especially as it’s the second time he’s had to fix the house due to a crash.

“Dealing with the city and making sure everything is done right,” Joe Fuentes said. “And I just want to make sure that, you know, this. The structure is safe for my tenants.”

And Fuentes said there should be more enforcement of the speed limit.

“It seems to be almost like a freeway along here,” he said.

Police have not said what caused the crash.
