The U.S. representative released a statement Thursday about the threat he received. Moskowitz, who represents Florida’s District 23, said the suspect was arrested in Boca Raton and was booked into the Palm Beach County jail.
The suspect left a threatening voicemail at Moskowitz’s Coral Springs office, the congressman’s office confirmed. They also said the man threatened to slit Moskowitz’s throat.
A constituent of mine has just been arrested in Boca, just a few miles from my house, for threatening my life. He is currently in the Palm Beach County jail. I’m grateful to @fdlepio and local law enforcement for acting quickly to keep myself and my family safe.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said it is investigating the incident. The identity of the suspect was not released.
This is not the first time Moskowitz has faced death threats. In 2024, a potential assassination plot that targeted the congressman and the Jewish community was thwarted by police.
John Lapinski Jr., 41, pleaded guilty in connection to that assassination plot. Investigators found weapons in Lapinski’s home and the congressman’s name in the evidence they collected. He faces a maximum of 43 years in prison.
