Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies said they responded at around 7:14 p.m. to gate D-7 to an alleged assault involving a passenger and a flight attendant.
“The investigation revealed the passenger and flight attendant were involved in a verbal dispute and no assault was committed,” deputies said.
The passenger was escorted off the plane without incident and was rebooked on another flight, deputies said.
“American Airlines flight 339 returned to MIA shortly after takeoff due to a situation with a customer that required attention,” American Airlines said in a statement. “Customers will redepart shortly and we apologize for the inconvenience.”
