Joshua Immanuel Saindyc, 24, was arrested Thursday on charges including DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide, racing on a highway, reckless driving causing injury, and dangerous excessive speeding, Broward jail records showed.

Another suspect, 25-year-old Samuel Morency, was arrested on similar charges back on Sept. 30, records showed.

The crash happened around 3:10 a.m. on May 10 in the 2700 block of North University Drive and was captured by a surveillance camera.

According to arrest reports, Saindyc and Morency were both driving Dodge Chargers and racing down the roadway when they crashed into a third vehicle, killing the man who was behind the wheel.

The reports said the two were going “at an extreme rate of speed” just before the crash, well over the posted 45 mph speed limit.

Morency’s vehicle’s speed was calculated at 124 mph, while Saindyc’s car was going about 117 mph just .1 seconds before the crash, the reports said.

Investigators determined that before the crash, the two had been at a bar drinking with friends, the reports said.

Morency and Saindyc had been hospitalized after the crash, which left the three vehicles heavily damaged.
