James Edward Brock, 57, was arrested Thursday on two counts of attempted murder, an arrest report said.

According to the report, authorities responded to reports of a stabbing at an apartment building and found the son holding a piece of cloth over his left side with what appeared to have three puncture wounds.

Nearby there was a woman laying in the grass bleeding from her arms and upper body who was incoherent and going in and out of consciousness, the report said.

Meanwhile, Brock was being held by two men who were either friends or relatives of the woman, the report said.

Witnesses said the woman was having problems with Brock and was trying to leave but Brock came to the apartment and entered without permission, the report said.

A person who intervened said he saw Brock stabbing the victims and only stopped stabbing when he fought Brock to get the knife out of his hand, the report said.
