Family members and friends said the siblings were riding the e-bike Wednesday night when they were struck.
They identified the girl who was killed as Peyton and the other victim as her brother, Brent, who was critically injured.
The kids’ aunt spoke with NBC6 over the phone Thursday night and said her nephew had undergone brain surgery, and that his mother was by his side at the hospital. She spoke with NBC6 again on Friday.
“She was a cheerleader. Full of life, everybody loved her. And now for this to happen and nobody to come forward is just senseless,” their aunt said. “I just hope somebody just comes forward, have a heart, please. This could’ve been anybody’s kids they just left laying in the road and it’s just terrible, I’ve never seen nothing like this before in my life. This is crazy to hit someone’s kid and keep going.”
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office officials said a driver was going north on Northwest 7th Avenue approaching Northwest 117th Street when they made a left turn and hit the children before fleeing.
Both of the children were found in the roadway unresponsive.
Friends said they had been riding with them shortly before the crash, and received a call telling them what happened a short time later.

“We had literally just left from with him, all of us were together and it was just sad to get a phone call like that,” one friend said.
The sheriff’s office released a flyer Thursday afternoon with a photo of the vehicle believed to be involved, described as a 2009-2012 Nissan Versa, silver or grey in color.
At the scene Friday, a growing memorial – with flowers, candles, balloons and stuffed animals – marked the spot where the siblings were struck.
Family, friends, people in the community want justice.
“They need to turn themselves in, period. Just turn yourself in,” said one man who knows the family.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
