Mandrell Ceydrec Rolle Jr., 29, was arrested Wednesday on charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, reckless driving and resisting an officer without violence, Miami Beach Police officials said.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. on Aug. 22 when 911 callers reported a group of four dirt bike riders speeding and driving recklessly along Collins Avenue in the Art Deco District, police said.

Officers spotted the suspects, who stopped in the 700 block of Ocean Drive.

One rider was taken into custody by officers on foot but Rolle Jr. fled when he saw the officers, police said.

As he fled at a high rate of speed, he struck the girl who was on the sidewalk with her mother, knocking her to the ground, officials said.

The girl suffered injuries to her elbow and leg and was treated at the scene.

Video posted by Only in Dade showed a portion of the incident, with an officer taking a suspect into custody as another flees on a grassy area.

Detectives identified Rolle Jr. as the suspect and learned he was on federal probation for felony possession of a machine gun.

He was taken into custody with help from the City of Miami Police Department’s Tactical Robbery Unit, and booked into jail.

“There is zero tolerance for reckless behavior that endangers the lives of our residents and visitors,” Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne A. Jones said in a statement Thursday. “Driving a dirt bike recklessly, striking a 10-year-old child and fleeing without rendering aid is unacceptable. If you choose to endanger innocent people in Miami Beach, we will use every available resource to identify you and hold you accountable.”
