Isaiah Williams, 27, was charged with simple battery, domestic battery by strangulation, robbery by sudden snatching with a firearm, and tampering/altering evidence, records showed.
During his court appearance, a judge set Williams’ bond at $70,000 and ordered that he give up all his firearms.
According to Miramar Police, officers on Monday responded at around 2 a.m. to the 11200 block of Southwest 45th Court for a domestic battery incident between Williams and his fianceé, where her gun was taken, and she was locked out of the house.
An arrest report said that the victim told officers that she was dropped off by a friend, and when she opened the door to her house, she saw her clothes and belongings on the floor.
The victim then asked Williams what was wrong while he was talking on the phone, the report said. Williams hung up the phone and told the victim “[expletive], you think I’m stupid, [expletive]? You think I’m dumb?”
When the victim asked Williams what he was talking about, the report said, he jabbed the victim in the face while she was on the stairs, and she fell. As the victim was on the floor, Williams got on top of her and punched her in the face five to eight times, the report said.

As Williams continued the assault, the victim tried to turn on her stomach, and Williams grabbed her hair and put her in a chokehold, the report said. She said she couldn’t breathe for about 20 seconds and started seeing black spots.
Fearing for her life, the report said, the victim grabbed Williams’ genitals, causing him to throw her, and she ran to the garage. Williams then screamed “[expletive] I’m going to kill you,” and jumped on top of her.
The victim then reached into her purse to grab a gun, and Williams also went into her purse to try to get the gun, the report said.
During the struggle, the victim told officers she grabbed the gun and fired one round to get someone’s attention and to get away from Williams, the report said.
Williams, the report said, was then able to take the gun, and the victim ran and hid behind a car that was parked in the garage. She then heard Williams going inside the home and locking the door.
She then went around the apartment building and called 911.
Police said Williams left the scene before officers arrived.
He later surrendered and was arrested.
Williams was placed on administrative investigative leave without pay as a result, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
