An adult was killed, and a child was taken to the hospital after they were struck by lightning in Margate on Sunday, police said.

According to Margate Police, the child was taken to Broward General Hospital, while the adult was taken to North Broward Hospital, where they died.

Their identities were not released, as well as the child’s age and condition.
An investigation is underway.
