A fugitive wanted in Colorado, accused of stealing a U.S. serviceman’s vehicle, was arrested in Miami-Dade County on Saturday, deputies said.

Andrew Lee Jansen, 28, has an out-of-state warrant, Miami-Dade Jail records showed.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Jasen was wanted for stealing the U.S. serviceman’s vehicle and belongings in Aurora, Colorado, after he was deployed overseas and hired Jasen to take care of his dog.
Deputies said that the serviceman’s dog was found dead in the stolen vehicle.
During their investigation, deputies learned that Jasen lives in Palmetto Bay and arrived at the home to help Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for a medical call that involved his father.

When deputies arrived, Jasen fled the home.
As deputies continue to search for Jansen, an off-duty deputy who was working at Jackson South Hospital spotted Jansen, who went to the hospital to visit his father.
Jansen was then arrested.
He remains at the Turner Guilford Correctional Center and will be extradited to Colorado.
