Jean Felix Fuentes-Gonzalez, 39, is facing a first-degree murder charge in the fatal shooting of Rudy Quesada, an arrest report said.

Fuentes-Gonzalez had been arrested back in march on attempted murder and other charges for allegedly shooting Quesada at the Hialeah Airport Motel on West 5th Street back on Aug. 10, 2023, the report said.

Despite being shot multiple times, Quesada underwent surgery and survived.

But on Feb. 2, 2024, Quesada was found shot to death at the Ernesto Hotel at 4001 West Flagler Street in Miami.

Detectives interviewed a woman at the motel who said she was Quesada’s girlfriend and was sleeping and hadn’t heard anything, the report said.

In June of 2025, Fuentes-Gonzalez and the woman who said she was Quesada’s girlfriend were stopped by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office in Fuentes-Gonzalez’s orange Toyota Tacoma, the report said.

A firearm found inside the vehicle matched the spent bullet casings found at the scene of the fatal motel shooting, the report said.

At the time, Fuentes-Gonzalez and the woman were arrested for drug possession, the report said.

Investigators learned Fuentes-Gonzalez and the girlfriend had been involved in a relationship for over five years, lived together as a family and a had a reported history of domestic violence, the report said.

The report said DNA taken from Fuentes-Gonzalez later matched DNA found on the firearm used in the murder, and DNA taken from blood found on a shoe in Fuentes-Gonzalez’s backpack also matched DNA from Quesada.

In addition, a firearm found on Fuentes-Gonzalez matched a projectile found at the scene of the 2023 shooting, the report said.

Fuentes-Gonzalez has been held without bond since his arrest in March. He was arrested Wednesday at the jail on the murder charge, records showed.

“This is another example of the work that our detectives put in day-in and day-out to solve cases,” Miami Police spokesperson Kiara Delva said Friday. “And it goes to show that they do not stop working cases to ensure that they locate the suspect and ultimately provide closure to the victim’s family.”
