A man accused of opening fire outside a Hallandale Beach McDonald’s, which hit an innocent father and his 11-year-old daughter, appeared before a judge on Tuesday.

Ralph N-Kosi Blue III, 18, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill in the shooting, Broward County Jail records showed.
During his court appearance, Blue, wearing a blue jail jumpsuit, sat silently as a judge read the next steps in the case against him.
“Mr. Blue. Plea not guilty,” the judge said. “Trial by jury. October 8 will be your calendar call date. Good luck to you, sir.”
According to authorities, on June 27th, Blue was involved in the shooting outside a McDonald’s.
Investigators said Blue was arriving for work when he pulled out a gun and fired at someone running toward him in the parking lot.

An arrest report said that two days earlier, several people walked inside the business searching for Blue, who was hiding in the back.
During the shooting, the bullets hit a father and his 11-year-old daughter who were sitting inside their SUV, waiting for her mother to come back from inside the restaurant.
The father was shot in the hip, while his daughter was shot in the head.
Both of them survived.
The 11-year-old said that it’s a miracle she’s still alive. She still has bullet fragments in her head.
“It feels like I have another chance, thank you for Jesus, thank you for everything I have,” she said.
Now, the case against Blue will move forward as he faces charges in connection with the shooting.

Blue remains in custody.
His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 8.
