The AMBER Alert was issued Monday after officials said Jason Castillo kidnapped the 13-year-old daughter of his ex-girlfriend from her Ocala home.
The confrontation between the 45-year-old suspect and Marion County deputies happened less than 24 hours after the alert was issued.
Marion County Sheriff’s officials said someone recognized Castillo’s vehicle in the AMBER Alert and called 911.

Deputies tracked down the vehicle and used a PIT maneuver to stop it. The footage shows Castillo pointing a gun.
Amid the confrontation, eight deputies and a police officer opened fire, killing Castillo.

The girl is home safe, officials reported.
