The man is now recovering at home and is sharing the terrifying ordeal.

For Evan Motolong, it was a regular evening run with his dog Indie when two pit bulls suddenly charged at him as he tried to protect his dog.

“We went by, he was going this, we were going this way,” Motolong said. “I just remember it happened just like that, like the two dogs just rushed after her.”

Only In Dade video appears to show the two pit bulls off their leash with their owner.

Motlong said he jumped in to save his dog.

“I ripped one off, and I got in the middle, and got the other off, I got my arm badly bit,” he said.

Motlong told NBC6 that the owner then ordered the dogs to attack him

According to witnesses who spoke with Motlong, the dog owner gave him a black eye.

Video shows Motlong on the floor.

“The comments I’ve read on my story have said they’ve seen this guy doing this to other people,” he said

Motlong is now hoping his story helps prevent this from happening to someone else

“People shouldn’t have to look over their shoulder wondering if their, a family member basically, a dog is a family member, is going to get attacked or potentially killed,” he said.

Motlong told NBC6 that detectives have told him they intend to arrest the man he said was responsible for the attack.
