The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office on Monday released the footage captured by an air unit.
The footage shows a vehicle trailing a boat traveling down the highway as fireworks were launched out the passenger window and landed in the median and in traffic lanes, officials said.
Deputies quickly responded and found the vehicle, and body camera footage showed the traffic stop, with the driver repeatedly denying their involvement.

Later in the footage a deputy revealed that a helicopter had been following and recording them for the past 10 miles.
The passenger was arrested and charged with shooting a deadly missile from a moving vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
“We understand fireworks are a fun way to celebrate, but only when handled safely and responsibly,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post, urging viewers to only light fireworks on hard surfaces and at a safe distance from people or objects.
