A man was killed after becoming trapped in a conveyor belt at a Deerfield Beach business early Friday, officials said.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue officials said crews responded to a reported industrial accident at the business at 1441 W. Newport Center Drive shortly before 12:30 a.m.
The business is an industrial park facility used for the mass production of food products, officials said.

It’s believed the man became trapped under the hopper arm of a conveyor belt while trying to address an issue with a large production machine, officials said.
