A man accused of breaking into a person’s house in southwest Miami-Dade three times and stealing several items was arrested on Tuesday, authorities said

Alejandro Orozco, 24, was charged with armed burglary, burglary of an unoccupied structure, and third-degree grand theft.

According to authorities, on Saturday, a victim went to his home on Southwest 73rd Court and saw Orozco sleeping on the couch while holding the victim’s gun that they kept in their bedroom.

An arrest report said the victim tried to grab the gun to disarm Orozco, and a struggle between the two ensued.

Orozco then fled the home, the report said.

The following day, Orozco once again went into the victim’s home by climbing through a back window, the report said. He stole several shoes, jewelry, watches, a wallet and ammunition, and then left the home on an electric bike that belonged to the victim.

The amount Orozco took was $13,900, the report said.

During their investigation, detectives saw surveillance video, where Orozco entered the home a third time on Monday, walked around the home and left without taking anything after appearing to notice the camera, the report said.

Orozco was then found by authorities at Southwest 74th Avenue and 22nd Street, and he was detained while having some of the victim’s property.

He then admitted to entering the victim’s home three times, stealing their belongings and having a handgun.

Orozco was then taken to the Turner Guilford Correctional Center.
