After an earth-shattering performance in the FIFA 2026 World Cup, rumors are swirling that Inter Miami is interested in Cape Verde’s breakout goalkeeper.

Josimar José Évora Dias, nicknamed “Vozinha,” is a 40-year-old goalkeeper for the Cape Verde national team.
Various news outlets as well as social media have tied Inter Miami with a possible interest in Vozinha.
But why was his performance impressive enough to possibly catch Inter Miami’s eye?
Vozinha and his team were able to keep a clean sheet against Spain, a favorite to win the tournament, tying the Spaniards 0-0, a performance that saw Vozinha gain millions of followers on Instagram.

Most recently, in Cape Verde’s dramatic defeat against World Cup giants Argentina, Vozinha was one of the players that shined the brightest during the match.
Vozinha had eight saves, one of which came from an infamous Messi free kick. But Cape Verde fell 3-2 in extra time.
Vozinha has had a club career that has taken him around both Europe and Africa, most recently wrapping up his time with Portugues soccer club G.D. Chaves in the second division.
Now this summer, Vozinha became a free agent, we will see if Inter Miami gets tempted to snatch him up and link him up with Lionel Messi.
