Gregory DaSilva, 26, was arrested on two counts of premeditated murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the Tuesday morning attacks, Broward jail records showed.

The incident happened inside the Riviera Hills apartment complex on Northwest 19th Street.

According to the report obtained by NBC6 on Friday, an officer was in the area when they were flagged down by a victim who said someone tried to stab him.

The victim said the suspect approached and asked him to call an ambulance, adding that the suspect’s shirt was soaked in what appeared to be blood, the report said.

He said the suspect told him he’d been stabbed and started coming toward the victim, who told him to step back, before the suspect removed a knife from his pocket and advanced toward the victim, who ran away, the report said.

A perimeter was set up and a short time later, police received a 911 call from a passerby who said a man was lying on the ground suffering from apparent stab wounds.

The man was lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds to his neck, the report said.

While searching the area, officers found a second man suffering from apparent stab wounds in an apartment.

According to the report, surveillance footage showed a man, believed to be DaSilva, walking behind one of the victims who was wheelchair-bound, they go out of camera view but appear to go into an apartment.

Minutes later, the same man is seen on video approaching the second victim, who was sitting on an electrical box, before the suspect is seen making a sweeping or stabbing motion toward the victim with an unknown object, the report said.

The video showed the victim fleeing on foot and being chased by the suspect, the report said.

DaSilva was found by an officer nearby in the yard of a home on Northwest 55th Avenue with a backpack, and told the officer “it was me,” the report said.

After he was detained DaSilva told officers the weapon was in his bag, and when an officer opened his backpack they found a knife and clothing that both appeared to be covered in blood, the report said.

DaSilva was hospitalized at Florida Medical Center and while there told a doctor he was “hearing evil voices to murder someone” and that they told him to use a knife, the report said.

The doctor asked DaSilva if he was able to resist what the voices told him and he replied no and that he killed two people with a knife, the report said.

DaSilva was booked into jail and later ordered held without bond.

Police on Thursday identified the victims as Mesilien Pierre, 36, and Wilford White, 68.

Officials said they haven’t been able to determine any sort of relationship between DaSilva and the victims, but said it was an isolated incident and they believe there’s no threat to the community.

The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call Lauderhill Police at 954-497-4700.
