A woman accused of hitting her mother several times while they were inside a Miami-Dade transit bus was arrested on Sunday, authorities said.

Gloria Roque, 38, was charged with aggravated battery on a person 65 or older.

According to authorities, officers arrived at the intersection of Southwest 117th Avenue and Southwest 200th Street after receiving reports of a domestic battery incident that happened inside a Miami-Dade transit bus.

An arrest report said that officers met with the victim, who is 66 years old, and she told them that she and her daughter were having an argument, which turned violent.

During the confrontation, Roque battered her mother multiple times on her back, the report said.

At one point, the report said, when Roque was stepping outside, she attacked her mother again in the back while the officers were there.

Officers spoke with the bus driver, who said he saw Roque hitting her mother three times in the back, the report said.

Roque was arrested and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
