Devarious Holloway, 32, was charged with battery and criminal mischief.

According to authorities, Holloway and the victim have been dating for the past two years, have no children and have not lived together.

An arrest report said that on Saturday, the victim entered the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office station and said she wanted to report an incident that involved her and Holloway.

She told deputies that on Friday, she got a text message from Holloway that she should come outside because his mother wanted to speak with her, the report said. The victim found that odd because Holloway’s mother died in 2017.

She then walked to her front door, didn’t see anyone outside, and then headed toward a parked car and saw Holloway, the report said.

The victim, the report said, told deputies that Holloway went up to her and asked her if their relationship was over, and she started walking to her sister’s house because she thought he would follow her.

On her way to her sister’s house, the victim noticed that he wasn’t behind her and realized that he had gone into her home, the report said.

When she went back into her home, the report said, Holloway threw her phone at her, grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her on the couch. She then tried to stand up, but Holloway punched her lip, and a struggle ensued.

During the struggle, Holloway kicked the victim’s leg, which caused bruising, the report said. At one point, the victim stopped fighting back, and Holloway released her, and she ran to her room and locked the door.

Holloway, the report said, started to kick the door, which caused the door frame to break. He then went into the room and started asking the victim about their relationship and asked for her phone.

He then left the home, but came back, and there was a verbal dispute between the two, the report said.

Holloway, the report said, then stuck her in the chest and left.

He was then arrested on Monday after he surrendered himself to deputies.

Miramar Police, in a statement, said Holloway has since been placed on demonstrative leave.

“The Miramar Police Department was notified by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office of an off-duty incident involving Sergeant Devarious Holloway. The Department acknowledges the matter referenced and has initiated a thorough administrative review in accordance with established departmental procedures. Sergeant Holloway has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of that review. The Miramar Police Department remains steadfast in its commitment to professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct, and will address this matter through the appropriate channels.”
