The start of the FIFA World Cup is only weeks away and for fans planning to attend matches at Hard Rock Stadium, parking is quickly becoming one of the biggest concerns.

Parking passes at the stadium are costly, with prices starting at around $175 for the first match. Those passes are only available to fans who already hold a valid match ticket.

For other games, prices rise even higher, with some parking listings reaching $225-$249.99.

FIFA says parking prices are set based on local market conditions and industry standards tied to major events.

“Parking prices are determined based on local market conditions and benchmarking against comparable major events previously held in each host city. Parking prices vary based on supply and demand and overall market conditions. This is consistent with common industry practice across major live events,” FIFA said in a statement to NBC6.

All parking must be purchased in advance, no later than 24 hours prior to kick off for each match, the statement added.

“Ticket holders are strongly encouraged to finalize their transportation plans in advance and, where available, consider mass transit options to help ensure a smooth arrival and the opportunity to enjoy the full scope of match day activities. Given the scale and significance of FIFA World Cup matches, fans are advised to arrive at the stadium at least 60 to 90 minutes before kick off,” the statement read. “Parking passes may only be purchased using the email address associated with a ticket purchase made through www.fifa.com/tickets, including the FIFA resale platform. Each ticket holder may purchase one parking pass per match. On match day, fans will be required to present both their valid match ticket and parking pass to access parking areas.”

Free Shuttles

For fans looking to avoid steep parking fees, there are more affordable alternatives that include free shuttles to Hard Rock Stadium.

Parking and shuttle options:
• Brightline Aventura Station
• Martin Luther King Metrorail Station in Liberty City
• Golden Glades Parking Garage
• Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood

At the Brightline Aventura Station, walk up daily parking rates start at around $20. Parking at the Metrorail station can cost as little as $4.85. At both Golden Glades and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, parking typically costs around $10, according to the Hard Rock Stadium website.

However, there is an important catch. These parking options cannot be reserved in advance at the same rates as of right now, meaning availability is not guaranteed.

Fans planning to use these alternatives are encouraged to arrive early.

With high demand expected for every match, transportation planning could make the difference between an easy arrival and a stressful one. Fans hoping to save money should plan ahead, explore shuttle options, and give themselves plenty of time to get to the stadium.
