A teenager is recovering in the hospital after they were shot late Sunday in Miami, according to authorities.

Miami Fire Rescue said it responded at 11:11 p.m. to a 14-year-old with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The teen was treated and taken to Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition, fire rescue said.

The investigation into the gunfire is underway, including at a convenience store at Southwest 7th Avenue and Southwest 3rd Street, west of Interstate 95.
The business was blocked off with crime scene tape as officers went in and out, spoke with workers and placed evidence markers on the roadway. It reopened by Monday morning.
