Authorities are searching for a driver who hit a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy and then fled Friday in Fort Lauderdale.

The crash happened at around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of West Broward Boulevard and Northwest 11th Avenue, according to BSO.

The deputy was involved in a hit-and-run crash and the other driver ran away from the scene following the collision, officials said.

Paramedics transported the deputy to a nearby hospital. Their condition was unknown.

Units were canvassing the area for the driver.
