One person was taken into custody during a SWAT situation at a Pembroke Pines apartment complex early Thursday, police said.

Authorities responded with a SWAT team to the Camden Portofino community on 108th Avenue and Northwest 3rd Street to serve an arrest warrant.
They said that although no threats had been made, residents were advised to shelter in place “due to the presence of firearms inside the residence.”
NBC6 cameras were rolling as authorities called for a man to step out with his hands up.
Police said they were able to take the subject into custody, and officers cleared the scene.

Details about the warrant were not immediately available.
One woman said it was unfortunate the situation had escalated.
“They actually evacuated our second floor neighbors, which have kids,” she said. “He barricaded himself in there and they had to go and help him out. They were actually saying, ‘One veteran to the next, please come out, we don’t want to hurt you.'”
Police have not confirmed those details.
Officers were also called to the neighborhood on Tuesday night to investigate “a domestic-related incident involving two brothers, one of whom was experiencing a possible mental health crisis.”
Police said they received “calls of possible gunshots being heard in the area,” but later were unable to confirm that a shooting had taken place. They cleared the scene.

Authorities did not immediately confirm if the two scenes were related.
