Chef Raz Shabtai celebrated the news in a series of posts on Mutra’s Instagram, including a video of the restaurant celebrating with golden confetti as the announcement was made.

“This moment is bigger than a restaurant. It’s about faith, family, perseverance, and the courage to believe before anyone else does,” one post read.

Mutra is named after the Israeli-born Shabtai’s grandmother and features a rotating menu of Middle Eastern cuisine with a “farm-to-table ethos.”

Another new restaurant receiving a Michelin star this year is Emelina in West Palm Beach, a Cuban eatery featuring Chefs Osmel González and Camila Salazar.

Miami’s famed L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon remains one of just two two-starred restaurants in Florida, with Orlando’s Sorekara.
